Application
We are seeking excellent applicants with a B.Sc. or a M.Sc. degree in computer science or a related area.The following information needs to be included in the application:
- An application letter requesting admission to the graduate studies phase of our PhD program (note: There is no application form for this program). The application letter should include a description of your motivation for joining and your goals for the program.
- A CV (in German or English), which should include a detailed description of your educational background.
- Proof of application prerequisites (typically examination certificate)
- Proof of a sufficient computer science background, such as an academic transcript of records and/or a diploma supplement. For international applicants, please include course descriptions.
- A description of the applicants research interests and planned research area for a PhD.

Confidential letters of recommendation from two university professors
that state whether an admission to our PhD program is
- highly recommended,
- recommended,
- supported, or
- not supported.
- Confidentiality is achieved by either having the recommendation letters sent separately, or by including sealed envelopes with the letters of recommendation as part of the application.
- A declaration whether the applicant has already been admitted to a PhD admission exam or a comparable exam for another program.
- Proof of language proficiency in German or English.

Fees
The fees per semester are- 191,23 EUR social insurance contribution
(includes student ticket covering public transport services in and around Kaiserslautern)
Scholarships
During both phases, students with excellent abilities can apply for stipends, which are granted on a semester basis, taking into account the results of the student for the past semester. During the graduate studies phase, the stipend amounts to 500 € per month for students with a B.Sc. degree and 1000 € for students with a degree equivalent to a Diploma or M.Sc.. This amount rises to 1468 € during the doctoral studies phase.Further Informations
