PhDs in the Department of Computer Science
The Department of Computer Science of Kaiserslautern University (TU Kaiserslautern) is one of the leading computer science
research institutions in Germany. One of our main objectives is the mentoring of excellent PhDs. We always welcome outstanding
up-and-coming researchers and we encourage them to apply.
The faculty offers two possible ways to apply for a PhD:
- Prospective candidates can apply directly to the faculty. There are two deadlines for applications each year (see below).
The application should include the usual documents and should mention the specialist subject of interest and qualification available.
If the faculty considers that the applicant is qualified to do a PhD in one the represented research areas, a PhD supervisor will be designated.
The faculty will endeavour to award scholarships to all successful applicants. The PhD board makes all decisions regarding the choice of
candidates and the awarding of scholarships.
Next deadline for applications:
1. July
- Prospective candidates can contact a professor who specializes in their field of interest.
This can be done at any time without considering application deadlines.
Many of our research groups and research institutes associated with the faculty offer jobs for scientific assistants
and PhD scholarships within the framework of their research projects.
